Palm Beach, Gold Coast

kind of like the Hamptons, but with less nightlife scene to playground for the rich and famous is a society based on the benefit bashes, second home (palace), a very fine dining and Beverly Hills-style shopping. If ringing in the right is a little out of your league, you're certainly not alone. But that should not be afraid off, either.

Downtown stretches from the Royal Poinciana Way to valuable Ave, with most major sights are scattered in between. Prices tend to rise as you head south. Ocean Boulevard runs from the southern edge of the breakers to the top of the island, most of the palace is worth ogling under valued Ave

Fort Lauderdale, Gold Coast

Once upon a time, Fort Lauderdale is known as a major destination for beer swilling students on Spring Break vacation hoarse. And, until the mid-80s it was the exact image adjustment - from drinking a 19 year old girls in wet T-shirt contests, bands of boys to drink beer in the streets and the constant partying in the unfortunate side of the Plaza Hotel - which has dominated most people know about the place. But my, what a difference a few decades make!

Today, after the effort to clean up the outlawing activities that load on this fuel alcohol, orgy, Fort Lauderdale has been successful in attracting more mature and sophisticated visitors with its myriad of offers (although there is much wear on the inside boundaries of many bar and nightclub). City of Port Everglades is even in the winter home of the new swanky Queen Mary II cruise ship for god's sake.

Although much of the interior part of the city consists of an endless, unattractive strip malls, look for good things and you'll be rewarded. You'll find beautiful beaches, a system of waterways like Venice, International sailing scene, the spiffy new hotels, excellent restaurants, a gay hot-spots, all just 40 minutes up the coast from Miami.

Fort Lauderdale, 40 miles north of Miami, is set in the network where it is physically possible (difficult with the water breaking things). It is also divided into 3 parts: on the beach, east of the Intracoastal Waterway, downtown on the mainland, and Port Everglades, cruise port south of town. U.S. Highway 1 cuts through the center of town, Highway A1A runs along the ocean and is also called the Atlantic Blvd or Blvd, depending if you are north or south of Sunrise Blvd.Glavne road between downtown and the beaches are in the north of Sunrise Blvd, Las Olas Blvd in center and 17 St. to the south.

Castillo de San Marcos, Atlantic Coast

In 1672, after the British burned the city around them one time too many, Spanish began building the castle of coquina.
